Swisscom Hero League Season 6 Finals: Overview

Swisscom Hero League is a collaboration championship esports game event in Switzerland between ESL (Electronic Sports League) and Swisscom, the country’s largest telecommunications provider. And after three years from its official release, the Swiss Hero League established its mark in the gaming industry as one of the most-watched esports championships in the country.

Season 6 will still feature three esports titles: Clash Royale, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Also, don’t forget that this year’s official sponsor will be Logitech G and supplied by Red Bull.

Swisscom Hero League Season 6 is streamed online via Twitch, where the qualifiers for the esports Clash Royale and Counter-Strike: Global Offense have been played out last July 17 and 24. The qualifiers for League of Legends happened on September 4 and 5. The Grand Finals for this Season 6 will happen live at Switzerland’s largest pop-culture and gaming festival, the Hero Fest in October.

Counter-Strike: Global Offense for the first time will be supported by dedicated community casters, who were given an exclusive right to stream the game’s unseen matches during the Group Stage in their channels. Also, CS:GO winners of this season will immediately advance to the ESL National Championship Global Playoffs as they will compete for a slot for the International ESL Pro Tour Masters level championship.

Swisscom Hero League Season 6

Date and Location

The date of the grand final event of Swisscom Hero League Season 6 will be on October 3, 2023, that will be held in the yearly event, Hero Festival in Bern, Switzerland.

Prize Pool and Distribution

The total prize pool is a total of $8,706. The distribution between teams will be that the first team in the final stage will get $5,441, and the second team will get at least $3,265.

Game Format

The Grand Final for season 6 will have the top 2 competitors in a single-elimination match. And the match will be the Best of Three series.

In the whole season game, there will be top two teams that will play in the finals, which are:

  • SHAPE sports which team players includes MERISINHO, eleKz, Trayder, NinoZjE, and rigoN.
  • KINGZZZ with team players includes reezk, MALI, Boro, NEttSTyLE, and tonzah.

Map Pool

During the best of three games during the Grand Final event, the map pool to be used will include:

Overpass

It is a map that focuses on bomb defusal that was first introduced and used in the Winter Offensive update along with Cobblestone. It is a Counter-Terrorists: Defend, which is a stalled military shipment that is located on the canal overpass. And Terrorists: Attack on the shipment that is head-on or attempts to take down the overpass itself.

Mirage

It is an old map pool that has been refined by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment that tweaked small gameplay as time passed by. One of the changes from the original version of Mirage is that the texture is similar to Italy that was later on changed to a Dust-like setting.

Inferno

It is an old map that has been improvised and has more visual improvements but does not drastically change the area. In the game, terrorists will attempt to blow up two critical gas pipelines while being through part of a small village. The team of the Counter-Terrorists should prevent terrorists from destroying the pipelines, while on the other hand, the Terrorist team will have to destroy the said gas pipelines in order to win.

CS:GO Community Caster Initiative

As part of ESL and Swisscom’s initiative, both companies decided to expand beyond players and now include casters being representative of another important role in the esports community system.

In this season, for the first time, there will be two official community casters that were selected and given exclusive rights to stream not only the CS:GO qualifiers but also includes half of the matches during the group stage on their channels in their choice of language that gives them a once in a lifetime chance to work with a professional league that will help provide good training and gain valuable experiences.

Swisscom Incentive Program

With Swisscom’s continuing commitment to professionalization in the esports scene, the company renewed its incentive program that it implemented during the previous season. The program is done to reward a good stipend for its competitors to provide high-quality resolution photographs and other social media engagement during the game season of the Hero League. Lastly, Swisscom also welcomed teams to use their resources that will help them develop their esports organization and careers that will be beneficial for them.

Streams

With the current changes that have been brought by COVID 19, the esports community engaged in new ways to provide good live streaming for fans. Swisscom Hero League will be a live stream via Twitch on elsswiss official channel. While those who are in Switzerland can watch the Grand Final Game in the Hero Festival as it is a LAN event.
